this is a collection of images i made in the first year living without my family after graduating college, in my first apartment in a new city. i was living with people who i really didn’t like so i spent most of my time in my bedroom. the room itself had a set of old victorian windows and a skylight. as i was just starting to learn how to make images on medium format, the space itself acted as a set for me to observe light, create compositions, and better understand my relationship to my camera.  in arranging the images, i did so in a constellation like form, one that mirrors the general arrangement of the room itself. it’s a composite, a map, a guide for showing how i saw and understood the beginning of my adulthood.

i moved out and live with people i love but these images are still important.
